Glad I got to meet des1 in person the other day. Nice guy and turns out he was in the class right after mine in CDL school...
Had lunch with Lynchmob as well while I was getting the truck worked on. I went back the next day to put my fridge and micro in, and the QC beeped at me....silly me, I thought when you did and empty and NOT available due to repairs they wouldn't give you a load...anyways, I got a 3 stopper in TX, the majority going to a DC so I'm getting lucky there.
I stopped last nite in Winslow, AZ at the Flying J and this morning saw another WS truck, so went over and said hi to the driver. He asked me how long I've been at WS and said there is another guy over there who just left orientation...turns out it was deserted1! I went by on my way out, but his curtains were still closed so I didn't want to bother him, so I went on my way. I'm in Amarillo, TX for the night, my first drop is here tomorrow, then have to get on down the road to near Dallas for the 2nd drop, then onto Waco for the last one.....we'll see where I get to go after that. I'm hoping I can stay in the west for now as I have hometime scheduled for late next week, but I'll go where the freight takes me!

Hahah too funny that was Day-Lynn you talked to, I passed him again outside Alburquerque, and I kept movin. I made it to MM7 in Oklahoma tonight just got parked and and setting up for the night. Just too funny that you managed to stay in the same lot that night. I heard from my Grandparents who I had dinner with in Kingston that the 40 got shut down right after we all made it through. Tonight had another driver who was behind me tell westbound the same thing due to wind tonight also. I managed to push 661 miles today, pretty good pull, I have another 980 left before I get to my drop. I drove straight through texas like it didnt exist, I really wish we were not goverened at 65, even 70 would make life easier.
Warpdrvr Thanks this. -
I hear ya about the 65, we get passed by almost everybody it seems...
Careful about OK, there is a long toll road and the first parts of it are not manned and are cash (change) only....after you put your money in, there is a button you can push to get a receipt to turn in for reimbursement. Will Rogers turnpike, and some other one....I believe it's I44, just in case you need to get on it, make sure you have change, or at least $1's or $5's as that's all the change machine takes....It's $3.95 twice, and if you follow it to the end, it's another $16 or so....but at that one there is a person there to make change for you. -
This thread is so long that I am having difficulty finding anything. I started a thread yesterday regarding the pay and how stop pay works out of Hickory and it got moved to this thread which has me again searching for hours to find information.
Does anyone know what the physical they give consist of? Someone told me you have to be able to touch your toes without bending your knees....heck even in my most fit days I could not do that. They have called me to get the ball rolling and go to May 17th orientation but I am worried I will not be able to pass the physical and do not want to waste my time or theirs. Thanks
Also, anyone working for them out there now can you tell me how often you are home. I read on here that some people are getting home ever week but Roxy said I may go two months not getting home. Just want to be clear what to expect. -
Wolfpack.... if you would have read JUST ONE PAGE BACK, your would seen my reply to you!!!! just 1(one) page back...
as for the physical... read around on here.. ask around... the physical is the same here at watkins as it is the same at most other places...rednek Thanks this. -
the physical for me was to push and pull a cart with some weight on it, walk on a treadmill for a few minutes step up and down onto a crate carrying some weight and squats while carrying some weight. I didn't have to touch my toes or anything, and I don't remember how much weight.
your home time depends on where you live I guess, I'm in northern california and yea I got home once a month usually, but they didin't sweat if I took an extra day or two off. -

Small world out there. Warp running into Deserted running into Daylynne (sp) That man is a true pleasure to be around and in my opinion hardcore. The man runs without GPS of anykind. Has a cell phone, and maps, and the rest is on him. He helped me randomly one night and we ended up running several hundred miels together. An absolute gentleman.
Sitting in Mudzoola tonight getting my cruise ctrl fixed. Nearly 7000 miles with no cruise has taken it's toll on my right leg. Here's hoping.
