Good morning from Dallas TX

 

You know it's obligatory for us southerners to tell you, "Yeah, but it's a dry heat"

A buddy called me two weeks ago while I was in Montana. He asked about the weather, and I told him

"Yeah, freaking hot up here"

Him "Well, at least it's a dry heat"

"Yeah, It's a effing hot heat too"

 

That humidity is terrible. I'll take 95°F of dry heat over 70-75°F humid heat any day.

 

I love living here. This weekend is Kooskia Days in town. My buddy puts on the old fashioned logging competition/show.
Some highlights......

Friday, July 26
• All day Beer Garden.
• Noon-4 p.m. Indian tacos and bingo at Kooskia City Hall.
• 6 p.m. Clearwater Valley Grass Assassins lawn mower races at the north end of the Kooskia Airport


Saturday, July 27
• All day Beer Garden.
• Free ice cream at the Kooskia Library until it’s gone.

Change "school" to "work" and that sums it up for me today.

 

Thanks for the heads up— we get to where we need some we know where to find it— don’t start shooting if you see a couple big ear’d tater diggers rummaging through the beer cooler

 

Followed a rollback truck home today, one of those cash for your old POS outfits. I don't think buddy understood you're supposed to tie the steering wheel when reverse towing a pickup with the rear lift. But hey doing 20 under the speed limit makes it safe, right?

 

At this point he's just been accused of it, don't know if he's been charged or convicted.

 

Imagine being so dumb you put yourself/family in life ruining debt for a youtube clip. The criminal charges are meaningless compared to the suit the railroad will bring for damages/cleanup.

 

Dash is setting in place and all the lights work for night driving. Slow but sure….
