Had a code come up twice now...Please define: "Particulate Trap Differential Erratic Pressure". What is it? What are known sypmtoms or causes? Also, found "inlet/outlet temperature on DPF shorted on Bank 2". Ideas?? Are these two related to each other? Have an exhaust leak too! Can't locate. Audible while using jakes and accelerating.

    Truck make, engine make/model, etc?

With both of those sensors going crazy it might be a harness problem (melted, rubbing, whatever)

Your exhaust leak is probably messing with the sensors, which are reading the loss of pressure, and thinking something major is wrong.

I agree with harness problem, or a sensor is bad which is disrupting information coming from the other sensor.

Thanks for the help. Looks to be the wire harness to the DPF is shorted. Oddly enough, the label on the harness is a Kenworth label. So, it's been replaced once before. I wonder why? Is it imperative to repair this part?

The harness is an OEM component, thats why it says kw. The sensor module box on the dpf is where its Cat territory again. If you can fix it solder and heat shrink together. I have replaced alot of the sensor module boxes on these due to the sensor erratic codes though.

Beings it's on a Peterbilt with a Kenworth part, they must be interchangable? Caterpillar told me it's a Peterbilt part as they tested something and found a short for Inlet/outlet temperature on DPF shorted on bank 2 and told me to go to Peterbilt to get it replaced. How do I know if the module box is good or bad? If bad, i'll have to get this from Peterbilt or Cat? So, I'm looking at replacing one or the other or both then? My radaitor had a hole in it last week and ran out pretty bad. Would this cause these issues?

CAT told me i had a short on bank 2. So, do I need just one harness to correct the codes for "Inlet/Outlet Temperature on DPF Bank 2 shorted and "Particualte Trap Differential Eratic Pressure"? Or, are they two different separate harness'?
