I probably sent it to him like that. Just inventing new transmissions over here.

I replaced a 16913 behind a 550E in a Pete a few years ago. Do not know if it came factory but it ran fine for years and owner close to exchange it when the rear sync went out.

I may be wrong and someone correct me if I am, I think it was a 9 series when the 12V71 was out. It was all about the driver back then, trucks were not childproof back then.

It also seemed like the only guys that were eating up the old 950 and 125 transmissions back then had 3:55 or higher rear gear sets. Even with a brownie behind them. The 3.90’s, 4.11’s and 4.33’s were much gentler on them 9ands 12’s. They helped get them big 10-22’s or 11-24.5’s rolling a little easier.

    And a 12v71 wasn’t a torque monster.

Either way. That 16913 would stand up to a 2050 torque. As long as the driver doesn’t snatch on it. And if he does nothing will last.

I have only seen 2 12V-71s in a truck one was in a small grill Astro, made before 1978? It looked very factory and had cool V12 emblems on it. Wish I had bought it just to have but I did not need it. Someone else on here said those were never made?
Years ago I worked with a man named Joe. He was staying close possibly to raise his grandson ( He never talked about that). He said something to a new hire one day that replied " Old man: You have never done S, had S, and don't know S. So I wish you would just shut the F up.
He came in the next day and put a framed picture up. Him as a younger man, little tea cup dog and a red white and blue Spirit of 76 Pete. Said timed off the mile markers for 10 miles with an empty trailer it would run 121 MPH. He never spoke to the new guy, which did not last long, again. Have to break this up and have a sorry from Joe.
