Company supplied routes. Guess where they get them from? From the two major mapping companies. When I ran HazMat the "company supplied" routing would always run me through the cities instead of the outer loops and they were marked HC routes. So follow the company routes and get a ticket or follow my build in computer?
If you run a laptop, then either you have it sitting on the dash which is totally unsafe or in a laptop stand which costs about $250 dollars. So you need to add this expense in also.
If you prefer S&T then more power to you, but this thread is for the support of the TND not to compare.

As a student and to a driver that has never driven in Dever it would be wise to err on the side of caution. That is follow what is in the MCRA unless you know for sure. It is better to go around than to stop on the freeway because you are looking at a 13' overpass in front of you.

I just got my TND 500 in the mail now. Should I update it now or wait for the next full update?

, what is the average length height and width of a truck with a double bunk and 53 foot trailer?

thanks for all the comments about I 25 Denver. We were actually traveling east on I70 headed for the Pilot. The TND had us get off like 10 miles west of Denver and was routing us right through town... not a route we liked so as soon as we saw the sign for I 25 we got on it.. neither of us saw any signs for restricted height but the TND was sure not liking it. There were other trucks on there and the lowest clearance we saw was 15'. I just looked it up on AITA and it clearly says nothing over 13'. So we actually came on it in the middle of the restriction. Not a planned route. BTW the reason the TND got us off I 70 in the first place.. was set to *shortest route*.

pete159...the height is 13'6" and most newer trailers are 102" (8'6") wide and length depends on tractor wheelbase and trailer length but with a standard conventional and 53' trailer your probably looking at 70'-75' total. hope this helps! mark will have to answer the questions on updating the unit.

If your TND is already on version 1472 - main screen\preferences\device settings\about,, then you can update to get the most current POI and construction updates. If you are not on version 1472 then update to bring your TND up to Version 1472.
Remember on version 1472, under route settings, leave everything to allow. a issue with avoids.

When I put in the trip, it shows me an eta based on the time zone of the location I am delivering to. I would like to keep all times on EST. Is there a way to do this?
Also, when TND calculates your ETA, what criteria is it based on? It seems to always give a time that is clearly not possible to make. Our truck is governed at 64mph, does the TND base your ETA off of the posted speed limits? I would just like to be able to get a more realistic ETA if possible.

WELL LOOK HERE MR. GTS2010, I WAS SIMPLY GIVING HIM QUICK HELP!! JUST IN CASE HE WAS IN A BAD SITUATION AND JUST NEEDED TO GET BACK ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH DENVER PLENTY OF TIMES JUST DIDNT REMEMBER TOO WELL ABOUT THE MIDDLE LANE ISSUE! SO INSTEAD OF JUST GUESSING I GAVE HIM SOME USEFULL INFO!!

Explain to me why you would want to have your ETA in yard time? I would think this would tend to get you off what time you really have to make that stop.
ETA times have been revised and improved in the next version to allow you to adjust your ETA speed.
