Hey, it sounds like you've actually been there.

I may have actually found a secret parking spot in SF. Should be OK for long enough to walk to a bathroom & grab a snack & no I'm not going to share it.

I might tell you about my spot on 101 north in Marin where you can walk to In-N-Out or Mickey D's

You should tell us. It's not like everyone in trucking is reading this.

I won't be out there this week....I'm headed for a construction site in midtown Manhattan that delivers Friday morning.
I have seen that truck a few times lately though.

No big deal....Just requires a little patience and a pilot car and a handfull of cash for tolls!

I don't mind running in the city, It's always interesting to say the least!

Me too. I'm switching right now to a company that runs paper logs, so i can do this. Hopefully they dont EXPECT it though.

Anyway, like last night. Ran outta hours, wasn't even close to tired. This morning, woke up, was tired because it was early. Not too tired to drive, but tired compared to when i went to bed.

I remember my dad used to be OTR and had to come home 3 days a week for his books to catch up..hahaha.

Never been to NYC. I don't mind LA at all. I try to treat it like a big game.

I've had 3 trips down 19th Ave in SF lately, loaded, at 4PM. It's really improved my shifting skills. I think I've shifted more times there than everywhere else I've been in the whole 6 months I've been driving. Now that I'm comfortable shifting I just need to find an experienced driver like onelikeseabass to teach me how to trip plan, keep my log book and maybe even back up.

If you dont mind runnin in manhattan...then youre a real trucker. :p

seriously though, i dont see why people complain about it so much. I had fun when i went to brooklyn. You just have to show the 4 wheelers who the boss is. I do complain about going there without extra pay. I guraantee you i will never go there again without being paid something other than milage. I'm not asking for much, but being paid for milage in rush hour in NYC earns you..50 cents an hour approximately. Unfair.

I'd probably think differently if i was an owner/op though. But my company is getting rich off me and screwing me over on things like that. we have an extra $40 we get paid for going to "long island and certain parts of nyc that are reached by brifge". It turns out that means we get paid extra for going to "long island". which is not even part of nyc.....

I only go to the city when the load pays extremely well...This load pays EXTREMELY well so here we go!

I'm meeting my pilot car at 3:30 am at the G.W. and will be at the job site for the better part of the day.
I'll probably run back out in the wee hours too...Makes it a little less of a hassle.
