I feel for the guy there’s nothing worse than cancer. It’s painful my suggestion is you connect with a local church? They will help you it’s a time when you need to go there. You’ll find lots of friends even truck drivers there.

For all those years of being a truck driver and all you guys think is, I’m just a bum when I’ve been dealing with this cancer issue since the end of last year and it’s like it seems like nobody gives a #### of the little guy
-
Nobody thinks you are a bum. Your best bet sounds like the advice you have already been given, sell your truck and beat this cancer.. is it a terminal prognosis? Until you sell it set up a go fund me account maybe? Or, is disability an option for you? You got to be more specific about your financial and health condition. God bless you and all the best.tscottme Thanks this.

I wish I knew what you meant by that but yes, material things don’t matter much however, when your vehicle is part of your health like when you have an infection and you can’t go see the doctors the only way to get there is by ambulance but yet you have to pay for the ambulance And when you have kids when they’re sick, you can’t do much because you’re sick yourself or you can’t take them to school you can’t get food. We can’t get food all last week because we don’t have the money.Wargames Thanks this.

i’m not that young of a driver. I am waiting on Social Security because since I am not able to drive, I am not able to work and the doctor has said so much sometimes it’s hard for me to be on my feet and I still can’t provide for my family, I’ve had other organizations help me like the Saint Christopher fun, which is the organization for truck drivers but all this week I don’t have food in the refrigerator for the kids or for myself for that matter can’t pay my bills. I’ve tried to give my pick up back, but I don’t have another vehicle to replace it , I gotta go to appointments doctor appointments stuff like that. I can’t even get my prescriptions from the pharmacy and I see why people that have cancer get really depressed.Wargames Thanks this.

Best advice has been given already. Find a good church. Change your identity from truck driver to cancer survivor. Sell the truck, sell whatever else you need to sell to survive. Nothing gets paid other than the bare necessities. Let the creditors eat cake. What are they going to do, garnish your wages?
The cancer diagnosis is now your only focus. If you can find a local gig making a little money here or there, great.
Once you are in remission, restart your life. Until then, total focus on beating this #######. Godspeed.Opendeckin, Wargames, Sons Hero and 1 other person Thank this. -
What kind of cancer? There are a lot of different kinds and some of them are very treatable. Also, some forms of cancer are very slow growing and won't really limit your activities.
