Having gone through SS disability more than a decade ago, I have a pretty good idea of what's happening. You are unable to work, so you need to consider MedicAID first. Call the Department of Social Services TOMORROW.
As for SS disability; assuming your doctor has already signed a letter of disability, you need to be interviewed at the Social Security office, and THEN it will be 6 months until payments start. If you can have unemployment until then, apply for it!
FMLA only holds your job for, I think 4 months.

I'm compassionate to the struggles @Truckerslifewa is going through. However, we still have forum rules we need to follow.
To make it clear to everyone, yes, in the opening post, he mentioned a GoFundMe account but forum rules don't allow the links or very much of a discussion about them.M22 rockcrusher, buddyd157, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -
Search for your local Mason /masonic lodge call them up and ask for some advice.

The same here, my kids volunteer at one pantry and she said there are a lot of people who have medical conditions and they will make sure depending on what they have, they have the right food. One of the pantry workers will make sure that there is organic chicken and fish for cancer patients plus a lot of fruits and veggies.M22 rockcrusher, Accidental Trucker and Chinatown Thank this.

I saw one guy wearing womens clothes, lipstick, jewelry. The workers at the pantry didn't pay that any attention. A couple of people were having a conversation with themselves.M22 rockcrusher and exhausted379 Thank this.

I think just the fact we are here, is providing some help, mentally, anyway. The site should be more than rookies driving over footbridges, and why drug users can't get a job. The site has a mission of sorts, to accompany our fellow drivers in a time of need. While any monetary donations are always iffy, plenty of help out there. The trucking industry was one of the few jobs where I felt I was actually part of something. There was no rank or shame, we were all one. While that has diminished some, 5 pages tells me, we still have compassion for a fellow driver.M22 rockcrusher, Accidental Trucker, Numb and 1 other person Thank this.

@201
I completely agree with you. That's why, in post #5, I said something to the effect, "we normally delete posts with GFM but maybe we can help the OP in other ways". I think the forum members have stepped up and done well.Opendeckin, M22 rockcrusher, The_vett and 4 others Thank this. -
I do too and thank you for the post and allowing my post to continue. Please understand it. It’s not just money that helps. It’s people talking me through it. That helps people that are encouraging me that helps like leaving these post up so I can reflect on them and come back and read them, those that encourage me to go forward those that encourage me with good ideas as a driver. I really appreciate you for allowing this post to stay up.M22 rockcrusher, exhausted379, tscottme and 2 others Thank this.

Well, one of my kids set up a GoFundMe page, but as I’ve been told, I can’t post the GoFundMe page, but on the other hand, it’s not always the money that helps me like when I was panhandling and went that far a lot of people would wave at me and smile some people would stop me some tea and just sit and talk to me. Those are the moments that will always reflect on that somebody took the time to sit and talk.M22 rockcrusher Thanks this.
