Yes. Not filing, but winding down before they run out of capital and are forced to file. This story is going to play out many more times before this is over with.
dunchues, DetroitDudeBro and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
I ain't trying to step on toes or over reach, but I work for Altendorf Express in North Dakota. We could use a couple of OTR guys who want to keep trucking. It always hurts the industry when a company like this goes out of business, but if you know of any guys looking for a job, just have them call the office and ask for Morgan. Owned lock stock and barrel by Roadrunner. Who bought one of my favorite companies I EVER worked for, M. Bruenger.
Sorry for the drivers, not sorry for the company. Hopefully the drivers will catch on elsewhere.Joetro and Voodoo Pyg Thank this. -
I'll not laugh at this even with what happened with my time there. A good friend of mine who'd gotten me the job, told me this was happening. He told me how many contracts they'd lost over the year. I did watch the video of the dispatch manager really laying into the drivers that he felt cost A&A the JBs contract. I'd hauled a few of those, so I know this hurt. Those drivers were screwing up and they ,waited too little and ###### sure too late to do anything about it.
My thoughts? It's a sad day. I just watched Bayou_Swamp_Rat in TikTok and you could see the sadness in his eyes and hear the pain in his voice. He's since gone to Hurricane Express, but he isn't happy with them. I could never fathom that I was still there and got that email seeing that I was an independent contractor when I worked there. I've been through numerous companies, so I know how it feels to have to acclimate to a new job. My heart goes out to all of the drivers and staff of A&A Express. -
I just stumbled upon this thread. Bruenger was probably the best company I ever worked for or was leased to in almost 30 years of trucking. Roadrunner ruined it, along with A&A, Sortinos, R&M and the list goes on. Butch was pretty regretful about what they did to his company and us. They lied to him and pushed him out the door then started treating us drivers as second-class citizens. Sad times.hotrod1653 and Hammer166 Thank this.

First Mother Trucker never drives. They must've had a bad customer base. A company that don't gotta pay company drivers going out of business seems odd.
Voodoo Pyg Thanks this. -
First off, thank you for clearing that up. Mutha Trucker never struck me as a driver, therefore I couldn't put a lot of stock in what he'd spit out. I was there for about a year and some change. A friend of mine who brought me along, had connections where they'd have had a dedicated meat run across I-10 from Florida to California. They turned him down and it never materialized. IIRC, their biggest contracts were Schwan's, AWG, Tyson, JBS and some few produce companies like Taylor Farms. The manager didn't want to change up. After my departure, I would keep up with people working there and saw the end coming slowly. While their base was mostly I/C truckers, they did have a company side. Their trucks were governed at 65 and they were picking up loads that were due for delivery yesterday. Couple that with lazy drivers on both sides who kept blowing the loads and ruining the A&A Express name. Too late did they try doing anything about it and I'll share an example from my time at another company.
I worked for Southern Refrigerated Transport until they were closed in 2020. I was on the DOW/XPO account for the majority of my time there. There came a time where we were on the brink of losing that contract due to drivers blowing the loads and being late all of the time. I got a call one evening from a very nice, but stern man by the name of Richard. He'd become the name that drivers and driver managers had to answer to on that board. He called to introduce himself and explain the changes coming to our contract. We HAD to have a 95% or above on time rate, PERIOD! He also explained that he'd fired a few driver from the contract as he felt that their tardiness wasn't fair to us who were on time and actually did our jobs. I remained there until the doors closed and was in the Top 5-10 on that board. That is what A&A Express should've done to those problem drivers on those contracts. And if the attitude adjustment didn't work, send them on their way and wish them the best in their future endeavors.Last edited: Mar 17, 2026

This is a good write-up man. I always say a company is as good as the drivers they have. Thats a shame because they had some good contracts. Honestly I don't know for if Mother Trucker is a driver or not. I just see so much of his content on YouTube thay he can't possibly be turning thay many miles. He didn't strike me as a driver either, and I always say that first line every time I chime into a post involving one of his videos.Voodoo Pyg Thanks this.
