Anyone know anything about an old California LTL called CME?

Who replied ICX Salt Lake City? Curious, is all. I worked for ICX for 16 years in San Leandro, Amarillo and the Denver General Office. Thanks,

I spent a few years In Salt Lake City up until it was closed in 83.
Seems I remember their may have been a dispatcher in Denver named Dana.
Had lots of Team Drivers come thru here.

 

I worked for Delta prior to the merger with CME was 35th on the board at the time I hired on, then came the merger and went like 85 on the board and member of local 224. Then the by out of MCclean put me downtown lol like 135 on the board. When it all closed up a bunch of us went over to Milne truck lines and drove team there till it shut down! Those were the good days of trucking

My dad used to work for CME until he retired. He was a great trucker. He taught me how to drive and he took me on his truck with him during the summers. It was wonderful hearing how all of the business owners used to talk about him. They all loved him. He was also the shop steward at the warehouse on Wood St. in Oakland.

Hi. My mom worked for CME in L.A. She worked in the office there from about 1953 until 1972 when she transferred to a new CME small terminal in Orange County. She made a lot of friends and knew a lot of the dock hands. She retired in the late 70's. I still think about all of those years. When she first started she was newly divorced with 3 small children, aged 5 and under, to support on her own. She was thankful and enjoyed working there. I think about those years alot. So glad I found this website.
