NO. MedicAid is part of your state's Social Services, and has NOTHING to do with Social Security, but is solely based on income and assets (if his truck is worth less than he owes on it, then it is not an asset; it is a liability). MediCARE is federal (but NOT Social Security), and is given to anybody age 65+ AND to people with qualifying chronic illnesses (I have received MediCARE since age 52, due to kidney failure).

We are trying to help this guy, and you posting misinformation is NOT HELPING. Please refrain from adding your $.02 on things which you know nothing about.

Last summer my heart put me in the hospital again, doctors tell me know more work. Applied for disability, took almost a year to finally get it. In the meantime I lost my car and almost my house but we had help with that. If your not I strongly suggest you get on medicaid and get set up with them. They should be able to provide you with transportation to and from doctors and mail order prescriptions.
I understand your frustrations and relying on others sucks when you've relied on yourself for so long. But I would definitely try selling the vehicle before repo man comes cause that sucks to.
Unfortunately this ain't the place to come for help but I wish you the best of luck. Also hound your local disability office like there your best friend, they need there arms twisted sometimes to get things done

Actually, that’s where you’re wrong. Social Security supplementary is a state run organization but it’s paid for through the federal government. Social Security disability is actually a federal run organization. How do I know because the state is actually looking over my paperwork for disability

Answer you, my friend there is this organization called Saint Christophers. They are a nonprofit organization that helps out truck drivers. There are one organization that I have lean on. You have to prove that your truck driver or that you were a truck driver within the last year doesn’t matter if it’s pay or what

ok , boss, sorry. I’m on Medicare. I never had to deal with any of that stuff. I have a little sister is a welfare recipient gets better insurance than anyone else. I have to pay for mine. It’s not giving to me for free.. and another thing if they get the stuff for free, don’t have to pay for it, They should see a veterinarian no reason they should get better insurance than us.FOR FREE, BS!!!

Nothing’s for free except for the air you breathe. get a better job. That’s what I did . didn’t make enough money ? Find another job that pays more, nothing for free. You don’t fish , you don’t eat

Whoa whoa whoa whoa please reframe from getting irritated with somebody that’s not nice. Yeah I have paid for all my stuff too except for now I can’t work which I wish I could every day. I wish I could get a better job dude I love driving truck, but I can’t do it. I can’t safely do it and if there was a job that I could do I would do it, but I can’t. That’s why we’re looking at Social Security.

Hey, you guys thank you for your help in a lot of ways. I don’t understand how the wheels have turned. As a truck driver, I love doing my job and I am going to hold onto my CDL in hopes that I will be able to return to work at some point in my life before I get to retirement age I have 20 years ago. It is so sad how some people were defensive, and upset at the fact that people get sick and have no other way to be able to survive and for those of you that have talked to me and shared with me. I thank you your words of wisdom will not go in vain. I appreciate every bit. Thank you again and please I do have a social media that I’ve been posting all my stuff on regarding treatment and doctors visit and stuff like that through all my cancer so if you wanna shoot me, I’ll send you the Instagram and Facebook channel so you can keep informed throughout my treatment and process

Having Cancer or something that keeps you from your daily routine is tough. I believe the government should help anyone with a severe illness. 10 years ago, I lost my vision to an illness for four months. The government would not help me. They said I had to go to work. How the hell am I supposed to work? If I can’t see, they would not help me. Your vision and cancer are probably the worst things that can happen to someone
