That plug looks suspicious. Cam plug very possible. Recently changed on on a older but low mile Mack.

I also don't recall one without the small aluminum block on rear of oil pan sandwiching rear seal structure.

Ha Mister: I wonder what kind of truck this is in. More specifically where are the rear engine mounts. Flywheel housing or the transmission? Easy to run some the with the trans out inorder to find what is leaking.

I’ve never seen an n 14 without that double flat bar stiffener deal under the front and rear pan ends…but maybe it’s been misplaced

The one on the front is a shipping bar. If the engine was installed at the factory it should have been removed. Replacement enignes come with them too but it seems that most shops just leave them on

This is in the build sheet from my truck:

    0520-700-A03 REMOVE TEMPORARY SHIPPING BAR
    REMOVE TEMPORARY SHIPPING BAR
FROM FRONT OF OIL PAN & REPLACE
    BOLTS W/ SHORTER BOLTS

    27-00277-005 Hex Bolt (7/16-14 x 1-1/4") 4

No seal and filled with silicone where it’s white.

So we replaced the expansion cup plug, the freeze plug underneath the cup plug was filled with silicone and seized, had to extract and replace that. It doesn’t call for any type of gasket between cup plug and flywheel housing. I put one in in case it try’s to leak.

Loctite 271 on the cup plug, clean both surfaces well with contact cleaner, let air dry and apply loctite 7471 primer on the plug before putting the 271 on. FYI for next time. It works well.

I have used 609 (retaining ring compound) in a pinch. It does work.

That cup plug wasn't an uncommon spot to leak, and filling it full of silicone after driving the plug in wasn't an uncommon practice.
