I stumbled onto these and immediately thought of you. I don’t know how relevant they are for a truck application, but, the amp hours seem huge.

I’m not too far off with a bigger gap, no aero stuff, and no APU.

Nothing wrong with those numbers. I have been running faster here lately. Running 70 -72 in a lot of areas since time sensitive on some. Have not ran anything less than 65 either. This is why numbers are not as good as they could be.

I’m at 70 most days now. I used to run slower at Tralo when I was gone more, but now that I’m off weekends the faster I drive the faster I get home.

Yep home time always plays a role into my time. Never fails I will be getting great MPG's and be getting close to getting home and will hit I70 around Saint Louis and always lose about .5 MPG over all because I hit that 200 mile stretch at 70 plus every time and always windy it seems.

I'm just happy to be seeing some numbers north of 8 on occasion. I'm getting about .5 mpg higher with this truck than my old one. Not at all what I had hoped but better than no gain at all I guess.

Not great but not too bad. Have you had an Overhead done on your truck since getting it? I would do a balance test before and after to make sure they did a good job. Also add gentle shift to your set up and will help a little bit too.

I did an overhead right when I got it. I have not done a balance test. I'm about due for a mechanic visit and another overhead.

Is there a way to swap out the 2.79 gear for a higher ratio? Or if the housing is compatible with any 3.42, 3.36, or 3.55 axle? Looking to buy one but we haul 80,000-97,000 regularly and the truck I’m looking at has 2.79 Paccar axles.
