When I was at Climate whenever I got sent to the produce market I always unloaded across the street. Always had to check in at guard an pay the gate fee. Towards the end of my tenure there we started dropping an hooking there.

Yea Hershey will turn it away for the onion smell. Ask me how I know, lol. And they won't let you park it on there yard with the doors open to let it air out. They said it was a food an safety or health code violation to do so. Something official sounding like that. I was surprised upon hearing that , that climate dispatch didn't know better than suggesting that I do that.

As many times over the years I’ve dropped off at the STL produce market, I kinda miss it. I used to always go to Adolfs or Star in there. They “paid” in cash, the quicker the delivery from pickup to drop off the more money. Yeah I made bank doing that back in the day. Lol

I definitely don’t miss going to United. Those guys have always been and always will be a joke. We need your load asap, I get there and then you want me to sit with it for 24-36hrs? Just call it what it was….

I got my trailer washed and that thing still had the stench of onions. While I was in line to check in for 1hr I left the doors open. That's insane they wouldn't let you do it on the property. Hershey is weird.

Drop and hook at that place would've been nice. The only good things I can say about them is that they let me sleep in the staging area and after 6hrs of waiting they unloaded me in about 15mins once i hit the dock.

How much were you earning on every load? That would be a cool incentive to see.

So it's a normal thing for united to make you sit like that? It sounds like I was lucky to only sit there for 6hrs...

At that time early 2000’s it was .34¢pm. I was with one of the last outlaw companies at that time, they were ok to run with but I dang near killed my self working there.

That was the only time I got held up like that there. The rest of the times I was usually in and out in about 2-3hrs as a rule.

Onion scent is strong. It can absorb into other food grade loaded into the trailer. Has nothing to do with health, saftey or any of that. That's just what they told you so you'd shrug your shoulders and walk away. Truth is they don't want onion smell absorbing into their product. Think about it. Would you buy chocolate that smelled of onion? I wouldn't. They gotta protect their brand. And anybody that's had a whiff of a trailer that's hauled onions, it's not just a minor smell, it's powerful.

I've only had the misfortune of delivering there one time. I had sweet potatoes, but they allowed me to drop the trailer, of course right after the 40 dollars lol. I'm surprised they didn't have you drop there. I actually missed my appt because the product wasn't ready so that's how it ended up being a drop.

There were times that I had to get a washout, and I squirted a little dishwasher soap on the floors to get a bad smell out. I'd go inside to soap it up first, then they'd hit it with the power washer. Then I'd air it out. It's harder to air it out in winter time though. I'm not sure what kind of soap these places use, or if they use any soap at all.

I never done it but I've been told to throw some coffee in the corners and leave it there overnight. Then get a wash out. The coffee is supposed to absorb odor.
