Absolutely true... KAG MGG used to make that money running Allentown into NYC every night. 24.50/ Hr for the first 40 hours. 36.75 after 40 hours. If you worked a 5th day on your 70 hr rule, extra 150$. Hotel (Candelwood Suites), rental car plus tolls and fuel, per diem everyday... Dream Job. 150-175K year go home every night. Messer took over.
Messser requires you to live withing 50 miles of the Plant. Messer is also very strict about driving records. Couple local 15+ years guys got let go because of personal speeding tickets. Cut the overtime. No 5th day. Driver facing cameras.
Why don't I still have it? Could not convince the wife to move to Allentown, PA. Don't blame her.
I don't blame KAG, they just lost the contract. After a year working they offered me .56 mile to run a company truck doing fly-team cryo work. Too many variables to make that math work, so us guys with some money saved up went owner-op. -

There are a few places where the demand always exceeds the supply of drivers. Ive loaded at about 38 ASU and worked for all but air products.

For us it’s slowed down somewhat but we are being told other contracts are in the works probably won’t really kick in till after the new year.Last edited: Sep 12, 2024

Back in Blue, Babies! I'll be starting in Hilsboro, Or with Linde again, on September 30th. Put my 2 weeks in at my milk hauling gig today. Going to be hauling LOX and LIN. Going to be working nights, thursday through monday,, same #### shift I had hauling milk, other than that was days. Theyre doubling their drivers at that location going from 4 or 5, to 9 or 8-10. Not sure if I can do it or not but, I'm going to see if I can retrain with CO2, just to keep my skill set fresh, in case work slows down or they need a hand.
Very happy and stoked to be back. Does anyone have any training material for the LIN and LOX trailers, that I can study? Videos somewhere, maybe? I dont want to walk in there cold turkey. There's one decent video from messer unloading a LIN trailer, but he doesnt really go over the trailer itself and the how it operates.
Thanks, Guys! You all were always so supportive before, even with my whining. I'll be sure to keep that to a minimum this time aroundRockinChair, viper822004 and Cali kid Thank this.
