Anyone else deal with it on new trucks, the company I work for is strictly mack, I’ve been with them for 12 years so I’ve had visions pinnacles and now anthems, previous to the anthems I never had any steering issues. 2019 I was issued a brand new anthem and it was crooked as heck, immediately went to the alignment shop, fought that beast for 5 years, 2 weeks ago I was assigned a 2025 anthem, better steering characteristics but still a crooked steering wheel, I’m working to get it straight as it breaks in, but I’m wondering do these other manufacturers face this same issue?

Yep.

Assuming it goes down road straight after proper alignment (which neither mfg or dealers do)
Just remove wheel and reattach straightCrude Truckin' and Lonesome Thank this. -
That’s what I’m doing, they’re super finicky, so every move left it needs a little tweak to the right. This truck follows the road like a fat man to the buffet, I’m counteracting it all day.
Old_n_gray Thanks this. -
Adjustable or solid drag link?
Do dealers not even PDI anymore?cke Thanks this. -
As my dad used to say, just because you paid for an alignment doesn’t mean you got an alignment.
cke, 86scotty, Short Fuse EOD and 3 others Thank this. -
Another issue as well, there’s sensors in the steering wheel of this new fangled stuff, go to messing with it too much and it throws a code so Ive been told. The dealer simply takes the wheel off and moves it, our mechanics adjust it on the steering shaft, so mixed information but I’m the one stuck with the visually inconsistent wheel. Why can’t they leave well enough alone, hell the steering wheel isn’t even round in this thing, looks like something out of a video game, boy I miss the old days when trucks were simple.

Interesting this Pre Del Insp. I was with Clark Equipment years ago.
New lift truck came in; went into shop, with a 3 page checklist, saw, OK-Adjust/Change.
With OK or we did? But, it paid $300.00 flat to the dealership. Is it no pay or sorry technicians now...
(Funny.. They sent a rattle can of color to touch up the securement scratches. Then went to "powder coat" painting.. First spray on to powder coat was not impressive)cke Thanks this. -
@AModelCat I’m not exactly sure, I’m no mechanic by any means, I know we adjust at both the what I would call, linkage, near the steering box, and in the wheel itself. I question the pre delivery inspection as well, going straight down the road the steering wheel was initially 45 degrees to the right, my 2019 was an absolute nightmare, I took delivery and took it straight to the alignment shop. I will say Mack made massive improvements in the feel of the steering, it’s more comfortable and predictable, but the truck feels crooked at times and definitely tracks the road like no other truck I’ve driven.

What is a crooked steering wheel?
You are kidding?
One reason why I go with a driver to pick up trucks is they have to pass my inspection. My rejection rate is one in 5.
