Guys do this because they think that their radio is bigger than everyone else's,not to mention that they like to hear the sound of their own voice. You want to shut them up then key on them every time they start there crap. If your radio has more balls than theirs then it wont be long before Rambo goes back to watching 20 year old porn movies on a 5 inch black and white TV.
I aways carry around a few straight pins just in case i run into a Rambo at a truck stop. Just wait till they go to bed and shove one of those pins into their coax. Just make sure it goes all the way through, into the center conductor and out the other side. The first time they key the mike....poof goes their radio!allniter Thanks this. -
CT that seems like it would be too risky to do...wouldn't you have to climb up the side of the door/truck on up to the mirror just to insert the pin? Wouldn't that shake the truck and then Mr. Rambo would wake up and come out running his mouth?
-
Mr. Rambo just may come out blasting. Yea he may lose a radio. But you may lose a life.
-
He wouldn't dare do something that messed up! I don't even think sticking a pin thru someone's coax would make a difference anyway. Now if you were to take a pair of wire cutters and cut the coax... that might just get you shot!
-
Nah Dave...A straight pin works good!
When I was in high school we used to straight pin base stations that were obnoxious.
We'd just figure out where they were and go by late at night and poke it throug,.
Then you wouldn't hear them for a while. -
really? You wouldn't think that would mess anything up. I'll be darned. Learn something new every day!
-
The pin is all it takes. Make sure it's all the way thru and touches BOTH the center wire(s) and the outer shield. Then cut the pin off where it sticks thru. Take 'em much longer to FIND the problem. It creates a DEAD SHORT! People usually think their radio went dead
and take it to the shop (because it happens suddenly) and they don't suspect a thing! If they mess with it tryin' to get it to talk, often they'll pop a final transistor by continuously keying the mike. Then they've got double trouble (bad radio AND their feedline is still screwed)!
