Got a guy in Houston they call a buyer he lines up the equipment and puts the deals together.

 

New dry vans are coming out with clips in the floor for tie downs. I might upgrade early because of them. I do some stuff that I could really use them. Also they are removable so they do not hurt floor space. With that being said this trailer does not have them in it. Ha Ha

 

Done many forklifts, tractors, mowers, skid steers and other small machine items and never had a problem with them moving. A little common sense and driving style makes it work with no problems. With that said the new dry vans now have tie downs in floors that will be great for that kind of work.

 

Sure but I dare you to try the same "securement" on an open deck trailer and see how far you get before DOT puts you out of service. Even using those flimsy little d rings on the floor pale in comparison as anchor points versus a rub rail or plate on a flat.

 

No doubt about it and get what you are saying. Double standards is always nice.

 

That's a decent setup right there and should be the standard frankly. It's not the norm that DOT ignores every day though.

 

Ruan has d rings in the floor to haul skid steers in them, how ever when #### hits the Fan, those d rings either break free or the 2" straps they use break and skid steers still end up piled up in the van or outside the van going through the front wall or side walls.

This might garner some attention. IF I was DOT and saw him I’d burn his ###. The ICC bumper is not an approved tie down. A vehicle has to have 4 points of securement. Cant see the other axle, but it probably doesn’t.
I’d pull him at a TS or rest area, put him out of service for securement violations. Then arrest him and impound his equipment when he tried to leave an hour or two later.
