I think Fulmer was losing it some towards the end there. A lot of players were probably going to all the Florida schools. They were pretty good competition back then. It's like after he got that title in 98, he held it together for about 4 or 5 more years, couldn't even get to the Sugar Bowl. It's been forever since they've even seen the SEC Championship Game, I think they lost a narrow one to LSU the last time they were in one. Yeah man, I'm excited about this defense, i am excited about the qb with a difficult name to pronounce lol, they are loaded.

unlimited portal is ruining college ball period.Modlite11 Thanks this.

I disagree 110%. It's made it much better. Coaches can't lie to guys just to get them to sign then those players are stuck. It's part of what's brought parity to the sport.bryan21384 Thanks this.

Right and especially if coaches aren't really trying to develop players. They just want to keep them from rivals. At least when Saban was at Alabama, he may have redshirted players, but they utilized that first year to get ready for big time ball, maybe they needed to put on muscle, or get more quality conditioning, but whatever it is they did, it worked. Some players may not have played immediately, but they were ready to go pro when the time came.dwells40 and rollin coal Thank this.

Yeah and a lot of those players at Alabama that were 3rd and 4th string could start at any other school. No sense riding the pine when you can shine at another school. I can see why Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State and maybe Michigan fans don't like transfers and parity. They were always getting all the 5 star recruits and at the top of the chain every year. That #### gets old and other fans are sick of it. I do think 12 teams in the playoff is too many but other than that all this change in college football the last few years has been awesome in my opinion.bryan21384 Thanks this.

All those schools you mentioned develop the hell outta players. Many players will go there because of their track record in getting then NFL ready. A player may be 5 star caliber, but certain schools may not cater to what he does well. There are some players that I think need to improve altogether. Some just transfer for the hell of it, particularly when they get beat out of their position by a freshman or another newcomer. I liked 4 team playoff, but I like 12 way better. I think it'll be less subjectivity when selecting the teams. I like the idea that the playoff will include a Group of 5 team. I've seen some good ones over the years that could never even sniff the opportunity. Boise State had some really good teams during the Chris Peterson era, and they were some giant killers. Too bad for them the 12 team playoff wasn't around in those days. They were ranked in the top 5 at times.

it's college not pro so yeah no need for free agency.motocross25 Thanks this.

Well....I'd agree with you if college football didn't generate so much money. College football is more than an extra curricular activity. It's basically a semi pro league, so for the most part, I have no problem with free agency in college football. My issue is when bad players transfer without getting better, as if a new environment will make them improve. I alluded to D.J.U. earlier. He's transferred 3 times, but has not looked like an improved product no matter where he goes.

Why? College kids can't be free to go to whatever school they want? Why not? And why can universities and the NCAA dictate that to them and also profit billions of dollars off them and they get nothing? Yeah... thought so...bryan21384 Thanks this.
