You know , I have never read a news article (one where I knew the facts) to ever tell the news without making a mistake, sometimes it made no difference and sometimes it really mattered. But I don't trust any thing I read. unless I know the source to be solid. I am no youngster , and I discovered this as a kid. Most of the time then , it was an honest mistake, unlike the things they publish today.Flat Earth Trucker and Oxbow Thank this.

Isn't there a TA in Redding? Maybe they think the TA/Petro brand is overexposed in that area?
D.Tibbitt, Flat Earth Trucker, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
News flash, BP owns Petro and has recently aquired TA.
And i wouldn't say TA has flooded the area because they say they only have 13 in all of California, closet to Corning is Redding and Anderson Pea Soup.Flat Earth Trucker and Oxbow Thank this. -
Poor management is always in the mix. When I was stationed in Key West, there was a Dunkin' Donuts outside of the exit on Sigsbee Island where I was housed. It failed. I never could figure that out. Squids going to work in the morning. Doughnuts and coffee easy reach on the way to work. Squids and doughnuts. A match made in Heaven and it went under. I can't comprehend.hope not dumb twucker, Flat Earth Trucker, Oxbow and 4 others Thank this.

That's a big parking lot to lose. Makes no sense. That area is always busy.
Flat Earth Trucker, The_vett and Oxbow Thank this. -
FWIW, TA (once called Truck Stops of America) started right around here, in Rochester. The old "TSA" (as it was called) by the Regional Market was torn down more than 40 years ago. Bits of the old truck lot still exist....hotrod1653, Flat Earth Trucker, The_vett and 2 others Thank this.

TA bought Petro years ago. Probably saw no need for the 2 stores to be competing with each other in the same local.
Wouldn't surprise me if they close the TAs in Eloy and Oak Grove. -
It sucks because that's at least 100 parking spots that are going to disappear. Where are all of those trucks going to park now? I don't think they're going to sell to a competitor when there's a Petro right across the street. Maybe they need $5 million cash or so to keep the business profitable. I have no idea what a piece of land that size right next to the interstate would be worth.
The_vett Thanks this.
