Tased for blocking traffic

Also bear in mind what you said is not applicable to what i said, "resisting arrest" is its own fun little thing. He wasnt being arrested, just refusing to get out of his truck, from THERE the officer decided he was going to arrest the man but never told him he was being arrested/detained, just pushed him outta the cab and tased him, so where did he "resist arrest"

No, he resisted an unlawful order to step out of his vehicle because the officer had no grounds to order him out of his vehicle. There are many things that wouldnt have risen to detainment/arrest that the officer COULD have lawfully ordered the driver out of the vehicle for, but since non of those were communicated, the driver was 100% in his rights to refuse to exit

 

Driver shouldn't have resisted, should have presented his driver's license if he had one and then got out of the truck. The tasing wasn't necessary though, the driver did nothing to retaliate, perhaps cuffing him would have been sufficient with two officers on one.

 

Those who defendy tyrannical behavior don’t deserve the freedom here..

 

There was no resisting, not complying with an order to exit vehicle when not being told they are being arrested/detained or other lawful reason to exit is not and Cannot Be resisting.

If i were in the drivers situation, since its obvious the cop was being a dick from the start, i would likely have handed him my license so he could get the bs ticket going, (knowing i would beat the ticket in court) and do as much as possible to de-escalate as much as possible.

Did the driver handle things amazingly? No, but absolutely in no way was he wrong in his actions, it was the jerk with a badge that wanted to flex, wanted to escalate, and used any excuse to do so.

 

This is how you gauge a bad cop. The situation quickly becomes about the officers ego rather than protocol, the law, or the safety of those involved. “He didn’t do immediately what I said, even though I’m totally wrong so I’m going to tase him”
The driver is just trying to do his job and it’s already stressed trying to back into that situation. The tasing was completely unwarranted. Now tax payers will end up paying the settlement for this mess.

 

I think the driver did good. He exposed the cops for who they were and about to become. Got the commish fired. Got it in the public eyes. And best of all got 400k from their sorry butts.

 

So........I thought, per your words, and others, that when stopped, you're supposed to do what the cops tell you, the driver didnt exactly do. He wasnt wrong in his actions as I saw no threat to the cops' safety. However, in this situation, now you're saying these cops are tyrants. Got it.

 

I definitely can gauge a bad cop for sure. These guys definitely fit the bill. Honestly, I don't believe the majority of the cops are bad. It's just a few out there that forget that their job is to uphold the law, serve, and protect.

 

Because the driver did nothing wrong… And the cops were completely in the wrong doing what they did… if you’re trying to compare this situation to the situation with Tyreek Hill, completely different one was doing their job and anybody knows driving a truck sometime you’ll have to block the street. The other was knowingly breaking the law… It’s a very clear distinction.
