This am plugged turbo air intake and pressurized from left side of engine, air tight until it eventually blew plug off and across yard! Compressor wheel looks great.
Question, how much pressure should be coming out of turbo at idle ?
At an idle while holding my hand over pipe from cac you could barely feel any air pressure at all. I’m not a mechanic by any means but it does seem like there should be more pressure. What is the chances of something lodged up in the exhaust manifold ?

Very little at idle. Did you just put manifold on after turbo blew?

I realize you don’t drive the truck but since driver wasn’t reporting any temp swings it makes me think it’s something new.

I wouldn’t think it could have something in it. The way an intake is integrated to the head on an E i don’t think you have a blockage there.
Something I just thought of is are you using a gasket with a divider in the center? You should be. Also wha bout a shop towel maybe got loose?

sounds like you covered mos things. However if it was ok now it’s not it’s gotta be where you been if that makes sense

I don't know squat and rely on @wore out for sage advice, but given all that has happened and all that has been done, I wonder if doing a valve adjustment just to kinda check out the valve trane wouldn't be prudent. It doesn't cost anything anyway.

Sometimes the obvious is easily overlooked…..a tight overhead definitely makes one feel sluggish. Pretty sound advice in my opinion

Did you find the old turbine (exhaust) wheel?
I had a pickup brought to the shop one time that had scattered a turbo.
After cleaning everything up and putting a new turbo on, it idled and free rev’d fine, but was smoky, sluggish, and had low boost/high egt when we took it for a test drive. I found the turbine wheel and part of the shaft lodged in a bend in the downpipe. After I got it dug out, it ran like it was supposed to.

Did an overhead as well. Exhaust wheel is accounted for! Im sure it is something simple I’ll keep looking thank you all for the suggestions.

What kind of rpm’s are you running?
Does it cool down if you get up around 1700-1800?

Maybe 50 degrees difference at higher rpm. I usually pull at 1450-1600
