Bigger numbers are "lower" geared rears. Buy a truck with the right specs and save yourself a lot of money and headache.

Plenty of trucks on the market now. No reason to buy one that isn’t the correct tool for the job you plan to do.

As others have said I would just buy the right truck since there is a lot of them on the market. No reason to spend the money on something that can be bought. Also that is a Lower Gear Ratio not higher.

So I just booked a load today that was pretty crazy. Total of 2 pallets that are about 500 LBS total and I deliver to 8 stores. Basically one medium box per store. From MO to FL and goes down into Miami. I am thinking when I bided on it that it was gonna be half a truck or so. Ha Ha Wish it did not have a very strict deadline as I could had got another load with it and killed it, $5500 for the load and all drops are hand delivered to front of store. The boxes weight is less than 50 lbs. Unfortunately it has been pretty rainy and windy today so my MPG's most likely will be in low 9's for that trip and I have been doing 70 the whole way. All delivers on Friday!

Nice run to break up the monotony. Unhappy with low 9’s. I can’t even get that fuel economy if I was being pulled by a wrecker!

What is the product they pay for over $10 per pound to be delivered?
$3.50 per mile with 8 stops driver unload going to Miami doesn't sound very impressive.

Subway trays. Always pays decent if can get them. One box goes to each store. Long enough to stop in front of store and bring to them or the installer. I’ve done tones of them in the past. Normally no more than 15 minutes.

Weird, they can use much smaller and cheaper options for that.
