1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

Hello everyone I am a father of 4 and one of my girls is autistic. We moved here from BHC AZ and my wife and I are really paying for this mistake. I need and am begging anyone in the area that may be able to help us all out. I have owned my own business for over 5 years and when it went under in BHC, AZ I have not been able to land a decent job since. In that time I have worked retail jobs and janitorial jobs. But being a father of 4, I cant afford them. I am begging everyone for some help. I would like to be home for my family more then just 2 says a month. But I cant find a school that will train me for the class A and/or B, without having me go over the road. If it were not for our youngest (20 month). I would have no problem going OTR. But I am in desperate need of not only getting that class A or B. And be able to help my wife and be there for my 4 girls. If I had to I can take the test at the DMV and just borrow/rent someones truck for the licence.

If there is anyone or you may know someone near the Hemet CA (Riverside County) Area, that can train and put me to work, I can work for dirt cheap until I can pay that person back for the favor. OR anything I/we can work out. PLEASE HELP US!!!! I am a hard honest worker. You can call me at 951-775-2648

    Thank you,

    Eric Walmsley

:biggrin_255:Goodmorning, heres a thought way off base , but might work for you, try the local lumber yards, then after a year of hard labor, they see you as a great asset too the company and then you kindly ask them for the next step up , there flat bed truck, class b lic, you tell them you have not have a lic ,class b, they say its allright we see you as a hard worker and tom here will train too get your class b lic, next thing you know , you got your class b lic and doing local delv for them , then after two years they buy a big rig and again you go thru the steps, that what i did when i first stared out driving truck, and any local companys with truck are willing too do this ,then you have too rember thats the first step is lic, the next step is your medical card, if you can get your medical card , your in, no company will hire with out it , but most companys pays for that, but make sure you pass and healthy enuff too do it, if you prove your a hard worker and not a smart mouth or say bad things to the company you work for, good luck on your quest, God bless you and your family, Everett.:biggrin_25520:

I have trained people off the street at several company's.
On Cement mixers, dumps and flats for lumber. (All class B trucks).
Some company's have no problem at all doing this and tend to get some of there best drivers this way. As opposed to hireing drivers that tried OTR and failed. I have trained some of those as well and they were much harder to train, and they did not appreciate the job as much.

I was trying to get my CDL for a year, no body in Dallas, TX area would do it for less than $4000. I kept looking on internet, finally found one on craigslist, I got my CDL in just $300. Find someone, who has a truck and can help you get the license.
