Sounds like you were just sent to be evaluated and let go. Happens a lot when a person tells someone they want to commit suicide and that person turns around and calls the cops. Cops are obligated to send you for a ride to be checked out.

Involuntary commitment is when a judge orders you to a psychward or detained in-patient treatment. 72hr holds aka baker act or 5150's are not classified as involuntary commitment. If during that time a physician/doctor requests a court hearing for adjudication then you might be committed against your will but the judge would have to order it.
