Well just my thoughts here. If you like that old truck and you can get it pretty cheap then have at it. Your young and have plenty of time to do your thing. No better way to learn then the hard way. Good luck.

    No....I don't.

I've done just enough of that to know that I don't want to do that!
Too much of an investment, too much hassle, too many problems and not enough return.

I hardly ever do appointments and if I do it's in the order of "you'r appointment is whenever you can get here tomorrow....It's best to get here between 07:00 and noon!"

Now that's my kind of appointment!

ive seen bthe price of flatbeds. your investment isnt much less.

fact is im doing pretty well. i just miss my family. my 7yo cries and hangss on leg every time i leave. and although im doing ok its not enough to put them through that. im gone 3 to 4 weeks at a shot because tx sucks. and for as much as im working it doesnt feel like enough to bother

A two year old flatbed is way cheap!
If you know how to shop for one and know where to look.

I just got a real clean Benson all decked out for $10,000!
My kids are grown so I don't have to deal with that anymore...But when I did I didn't find it all that difficult to deal with.
TX. does suck and I stay out of there as much as possible....

I don't/won't haul cheap freight so I do make decent money but sometimes it's a contest of wills to get the right rates and you have to be willing to walk away from the load if they won't meet your price!

Texas has went down the toilet as far as rates go especially coming out. I do clerical work/brokering and I can tell you the rates coming out of Texas suck.
