Indeed I am trying not to limit myself. Thus my postings here. JCT has an office about an hour away from me. I may call them in the morning to see what they can do. Looks like they want you to already have a Class A with 12 months OTR. But who knows maybe because I am somewhat local....

I am aware that there are a lot of freight lanes that come through here and that are several companies here. Did not know there was 50+ but trying to get one to take me on and help me get the CDL is a different story.

I will stick to my guns though until i find something that is right for me and whoever I go with. I don't mind a contract with anyone but I don't like what I see at Swift, CRST, DS/C1 etc...

Roehl has RDTC (Roehl Driver Training Center) and if you go to their website and punch in 74074 I think you'll find that they are hiring in your area. They've got a good rep. I'd likely be looking at them harder if they had more freight moving through my area and would hire from here.

Also, you might look at this thread if you haven't already done so. Majestyk has done a pretty good job of reporting his experiences with Roehl.

Now this is funny because I was just on the Roehl website a minute ago and was looking at the RDTC program. Its another I am adding to my list to check into.

    Thanks again!

Where might I obtain a list of the 150+ carriers that are located here in Oklahoma?

    1) Go to www.ai.fmcsa.dot.gov
    2) Click on "SafeStat Carrier Search"
    3) Click on "Click here to access the SafeStat Module".
    4) Click on "Carrier List". (not single carrier list)
    5) Refine the search to Oklahoma

You can further refine the search by # of power units, city, county, date of last Compliance Review, etc by clicking on the title of each column and then scrolling down to the city, county, etc. If I can come up with a shortcut link, I'll post it!

P.S. There are 150+/- carriers with 50+ power units in OK. There are over 10,000 DOT #s registered in the state. Most of course are one man shows.

If you have difficulty understanding 1-5 above, let me know. I can be really confusing. Good luck!!

I just edited the post, you might want to go back to it and see the P.S. Again, good luck!

(Ya know, now that I think about it, you could probably look for major cities along the interstates near Stillwater, including major cities in neighboring states. Sometimes, not always, a carrier is so situated near an interstate that is just seems to stand to reason that they have good freight moving through that city. This might be confusing the issue, I'm good at that.)

No Okies allowed! :biggrin_2552: Welcome to forum. You are up there in OSU country. Ought to be some sort of training available in Tulsa/OK City area. If you are going to carrier school I would check into Millis. Know they go through OK, but not how much they deliver there. Good luck.

From what I see the only school or training available here in Okie is Roadmasters out of Tulsa or OKC. Both about 1 hour from me. Sorry to say I do not have the cash for it.

Currently looking at DS/C1 - CRST etc... Not really the route I wanna go but may be forced to go. I checked into Millis this morning as well and that one is not an option for me.

    But Thanks for the idea.
