I'll be taking the one that I would want to buy to a shop of my own choosing and have them go over the mechanicals, and would ask them to do a fake CVI. In other words, see if it would pass as is, without getting a failed sticker. All good for banging down the eventual price, or walk away. I can do my own inspection, and yeah, I can turn a wrench, but as far as I'm concerned, pro mechanics have better eyes than me, plus more knowledge and experience. But then again, heavy duty mechanics can drive trucks, but I have way more knowledge and experience than them. I don't mind saying I'm not an expert mechanic, but I know enough so that if they do a crap inspection, I"ll have a word with the manager and tell him I'm not paying lol. One thing, when buying a truck, you WANT them to find EVERYTHING wrong lol.
