Yeah they are real. Used to be quite popular with loggers in the Deep South. It’s called a Bow Saw or Bow bar. I’m pretty certain no one is making new saws like that. You can retrofit a modern saw to take one. And I’m not even certain you can buy new bows. But they can really cut some wood with a guy that knows how to use one. However they can be pretty dangerous.
