question for the old time drivers

    thanks for the replies and well im going to go with the smaller company. think it will give me a better start. and i did a little digging. talked to some people who the owners. going their today to do some paper work and check out my truck. and i will keep you guys posted on how this works out wish me luck

    Do keep us posted. Posts from drivers who are new in the industry are critical, in my opinion, to the wannabes looking to break into an industry that is, again..my opinion, getting more and more difficult to break into.

    well went today and did my paperwork to get going. also checked out my truck which is 2005 red kenworth t600 looks realy good shape got all new virgin tires new brakes and looks clean. going to go and pick it up tomorrow should be bobtailing down to perryville mo. on tuesday to get trained on how to use a pneumatic take. so far this company is starting me out right. but we will see how it plays out in the long run.

    If they are good people and you do a good job I think smaller is best.I have seen plenty of bad small companies also.

    I believe you might get better training where you're going. But after you get a year or so you really need to look at the future. Benefits should be looked at closer than pay. What's going to happen if you get hurt or when you decide to retire. Look ahead.

    brought my truck home today leaving out at 8am tomorrow to perryville mo to get trained up. thanks for the info

    well made it to perryville mo today at about 12pm and found out that i have to wait till tomorrow due to my trainer having a family illness. no big deal it happens so they put me up in a hotel for the next 3 nights i go out with a different trainer tomorrow morning at about 5am. so the waiting game begins. at least im not sleeping in a hot truck tonight. well hope you all drive safe.
