Don't look for the answers to your questions on wether or not to buy a truck on an internet truckers forum! You have to make these decisions on your own. You have to take responsibility for your own actions, noone else.

I'll give you credit, your not a worthless kid expecting handouts, your always thinking ahead and them are good things. But don't get to far ahead of yourself. Get your CDL, get a driving job and some miles under you. There will always be deals to find.

I actually planned on using that truck to get my CDL. I can drive a truck, I just need a truck for the road test and that is a pain in the butt to come up with.

Let me tell ya seeing the other side of the business is a real eye opener and it's a real learning experience that many drivers don't get to see. Sure brokers get a bad name but there are good ones out there who will give the shirt off their back to find good paying freight but it's not as easy as getting the load from the shipper and giving it to the truck.

You do realize you'll need license and insurance for that truck to use it for the road test,.............Not to mention all of the repairs to make sure it's dot legal,.....

How much do you reckon all that's going to cost????

Some of us prefer to do things the hard way. Whether we are successful or not is a different story.

Here in Indiana you can pay a small "rental fee" and use the state's trucks for your test and not worry about it.
