Is it beneficial to run a 6" pipe on the trailer, 6" hose and just run an adapter if the customer has a smaller pipe? Looking to spec out a new Mac for cement.

4" is industry standard, 6" will just take more air to operate and move the product. Is there a benefit, probably, just not sure if it would be worth the headache of carrying adapters, This would have nothing to do with specking out your tractor, best on the tractor would be a Garner-Denver blower mounted to your frame with a pto drive. this would also run into a 3" hot air line, (4" is used on the product line) I would run a muffler mounted on the tractor, but you can mount it to the trailer.

I wouldn't want to neck down during the push, it'd probably take longer to unload and be more likely to plug up.

I ran pneumatics for almost a decade and there was only one time I ever saw a customer's pipe that wasn't 4". It was a 5" hose they had rigged up to bypass the pig so that two trucks could blow into the silo of a porta-batch plant at the same time - and the 5" took an extra 20 minutes to unload because you couldn't push it anywhere near as hard as you would if you were unloading into the regular 4" pipe.

I remember seeing a post somewhere on here about a 5" taking half the amount of time to unload.
