Verizon says that too. It's not true. They catch you over that 5gb limit, they'll hit you with overage charges.

You also can't make or receive calls while the phone is tethered. It's one or the other.

Yeah, I know. They rope you in with that sales pitch and get you locked into the contract. Maybe they let you go over a limit for 2-3 months. Then they nail you claiming that you're slowing down their precious network and disrupting service for other customers, which are somehow always more important than you. It's an old scam.

 

not with AT&T... i have a jailbroken 3G iphone and i'm on my laptop using MyWi.. cost i think 10 bucks for the app 1 time fee. actually has two options, turns your iphone into a mobile WiFi center and you dont have to have the laptop or computer tethered, or tether it to the laptop (which doesnt kill the phone battery) I'm more then happy with the setup like this, but if you do it the uhh.. "legal" way, its super expensive. my phone bills have not been any different since i started using mywi 7 or 8 months ago.

 

To answer the question, kind of, verizon would get the vote. The coverage is better. However, the Moto Droid is the phone you want.

 

I have never even seen a devour phone, but if you want to make actual phone calls, the Iphone is pretty much useless. Go figure...
