I am not sure if they hire rookies but Mesilla valley transport has lots of trucks down there.. I think they are in Las cruces tho. May be worth a look.. swift has a terminal in abq.. may be worth a shot looking into them

Freight in the area should be no problem since you would not be around that area that much.
Much like my terminal in Menasha, WI, where freight is somewhat scarce but the drivers go all over - either regional or OTR.
In and out for home times is all you need there. And they have some good people there.
Small terminals are the best. -
You might want to consider applying for a non-driving position at a company that also hires CDL drivers. Garbage collection, beer/beverage/food delivery etc... They may be reluctant to put you straight in a truck because of your record, but I guarantee you they'll get hard up for drivers within your first six months. These places are like a revolving door for drivers. A guy with with a CDL already hired on will be too tempting to pass over when they get in a bind.

MVT, Swift , Ben E Keith , Coke , ABC dist , sysco , MSCI or Franklin or AUI - water truck , also LaBatts , also some of the moving van companies . Also u could try Pro Drivers . Possibly dock / driver stuff at estes , and over at general mills they need yard dogs to move all those trlrs around .
