Question for you qcommkiller:
How did you like the midwest regional division? What kind of miles, hometime, etc. did you get? I live in Indiana and I'm researching a few carriers now incase I need a job in the near future. I am currently working for one of the "Big Three" automakers and with all the downsizing going on, it's not looking very promising. I appreciate any information you could share with me. Thanks and keep safe out there!

Sorry it took so long for me to answer, haven't been at a hotspot for a while. I loved midwest regional. Great dispatchers, always got from 2700 to 3000 miles a week consistently, even when freight slowed down. On midwest regional, you can be home every weekend. I stayed out two weeks at a time, because that is what I got used to at the first carrier I worked for. You also have some good dispatchers on Midwest Regional, and they keep you going. In fact, I am going to return to Crete and run midwest regional again. The new company didn't work out as well as I'd hoped. I think that the best job I've had driving was running midwest regional with crete. I certainly was happiest doing that.

Really? A company with a Satisfactory safety rating is 2 points from being shut down by the DOT? I did check out the FMCSR website, and did the company search. I don't know where you went, but it didn't look like they were anywhere near being shut down. If you don't like the company, then quit, but don't drag thier name through the mud with lies. I would post the link to the page with the real numbers here, but I don't know how to do that here, or even if I've been a member long enough to post a link.

You're welcome to post links as long as they're not advertisements and pertain to the context of the thread.
Let's see it. -
After reading this, I decided to go look for myself....and low and behold it says "INSPECT" with a safety rating of 98........ouch!!!!!

Well here is where I was looking...

So since this one says the data is for the last 24 months preceding the present date, and the other one is dated since 2006, which one do you believe? -
I'd go to work for CCC no matter if they are close to being shut down. This is because I don't believe the DOT would actually shut them down. This would mean putting god-knows-how-many drivers out of work for days if not weeks, not to mention knocking the dispatchers, recruiters, and such out of their jobs. CCC is not a small company, remember. I think the DOT would have mercy on CCC, and I'm sure CCC would never allow itself to be shut down in the first place.
Yeah, I'd go to work for 'em tomorrow and not worry about 'em being shut down. They won't be. -
Thanks for your reply qcommkiller. I haven't checked back for awhile and glad I did. It sounds like a pretty good deal here in the Midwest Regional.
Do you know if there's any trainers here in Indiana, I live 50 miles north of Indianapolis. -
Not sure on the trainer situation, but I think they should be able to hook you up with someone. I know one of the drivers who went through orientation with me jumped straight over from the big orange, and they had him with a trainer, just not sure where he lived or how close the trainer lived to his home location. Best of luck, and hopefully we'll meet up once I get my red truck back.

Thanks for your reply. I was wondering if I could get into the Indy terminal or the Lafayette terminal and talk to some of the drivers, or is it just for employess only. I would really like to talk to some drivers and get their opinions as well, and check out the operation a little closer. Do you live here in Indiana or in one of the other Midwest Regional states?
Best of luck to you and thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. Have a great week !
