I'm all for eating meals outside the truck but these truck stop restaurants are a rip off for the shoe leather they try to pass off as meat while charging more than a normal restaurant.

I picked up an electric bike a couple months back and will take it out once or twice a week. Anything less than a mile I'll walk but more than that I'm going for a ride. There's almost always a cracker barrel or some form of road/steak house restaurants within 5-10 miles of most truck stops.

I keep some chicken nuggets in the freezer and a combination of chili and microwaveable rice for the nights I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere. Takes about 15 minutes to boil up a bowl of noodles in a microwave with a few cups of water. Drain them out then add a can of hormel chili and 3 more minutes to a filling meal.

Keep a big bag of fruit loops and a half gallon of milk for the nights when I really can't be bothered to even hit the buttons on the microwave.

I used to carry a single burner stove and pans but got tired of the cleanup afterwards. Made a lot of pan fried chicken and baked potatoes in the microwave back then.

If they want to charge me $25-30 for a meal at least make the portions worth it.

I had this a couple weeks ago at a cracker barrel in Calvert City, KY while waiting for a new fan hub for 4 days. Was pretty darn good for a meal that was $22 with the tip included. Sure beats the 1/8" thick chicken leather Iron Skillet usually serves me.

I precook and then freeze everything before going out. I then have microwave meals for dinner. I do exchange that with Love's chef salads to watch the calories.

Final, finally. Hay season is over. We took all of our extra cow hay to WNC and several loads of alfalfa as well. All the equipment is back where it needs to be and on Monday we go back to local work until everything kicks off again.

Sunday we will have a sit down bbq meal and discuss what folks want to do next year.
My gut says I will need to find a couple of new folks or cut back the contract, but we will see. Not wanting to borrow trouble.

Most guys coming into the business today would be considered Incels. They don’t like being incels, but they don’t ever get out of the truck. Reckon they find contentment with flogging.

Was at a subway. Some KennyG looking kid is making my sandwich. Little petite young girl is also behind the counter. There were 2 young wannabe thug boys in line behind me fidgeting with loads of nervous energy. Girlie asks them what they would like and one kid asks, “Do you have Snap?” Took every bit of courage he had to ask. She pounts at KennyG, “That’s my boyfriend.” KennyG smiles confidently. The two young G’s scrambled out like the place wa on fire.

Hey gents, word of warning to you…however you portray yourself, your actions and words
have to be congruent. If you suppose to be thug, you don’t fidget.
