This subject is one that I just can not understand, or maybe I just don't want to . The government doesn't have a problem legalizing dope smoking but they want to stop cigarette smoking. It irks me to no end.

I don't understand what the big deal is. Enforcement is a big waste of money. How do you outlaw a weed that can grow just about anywhere? I say if you want to be a dope-head, as long as it doesn't affect me, I don't care. If someone is caught driving on the stuff, they should get a DUI, and they should urine test welfare recipients, and certain professions, like ours, should be urine tested as well. I don't want to share the road with drunks or pot-heads, and I don't want my tax dollars going to support some stoner who won't get his lazy butt off his sofa. But beyond that, I really don't care what people do.

I just wonder if they legalize dope, and keep mandatory drug testing for truck drivers, would there be a real shortage of drivers then? Of course the folks that test positive would probably try and say they were being discriminated against, or want some kind of medical disability.

I personally am a fan of legalizing pot in California, but only in California. This way all the potheads will move to California, thus adding to the weight of California. One really good earthquake, and I get rid of two things I hate. California and idiot potheads!

this is a steaming pile of propaganda BS,the best thing this country can do RIGHT NOW,is make pot legal.

"Most Americans still oppose legalizing marijuana but larger majorities believe pot has medical benefits and the government should allow its use for that purpose, according to an Associated Press-CNBC poll released Tuesday. "

The people opposed to legal pot are the beer companies, the pharmacudical companies, the IRS,and the industry that was created called"the war on drugs".

The beer companies know their profits would drop thru the basement floor if pot was legal. Its a buzz without all the potty breaks.
The pharm companies know profits would plung if people could cure what ails them by walking into the back yard and cutting down a few plants rather then running to the local pharmacy for a bottle of their cure all.
The IRS hasnt figured out how to tax it,because everyone can grow it,to include lil ole ladies with window box gardens.
And this would put alot of so called soldiers in our "war on drugs"out of work,we wouldnt need most of them.70% of the drugs smuggled across our border from Mexico isnt cocain, its pot!Make it legal and it will kill the mexican drug cartels almost overnight.
Then of course we have the American farmers, heavily subsidized with tax money.Think they would like to grow a weed for a much larger profit then they make now??Im guessing yes.It would save billions in taxes for us all.

The first crop in this country, that built this country, was tabacco, wouldnt it be fitting that a tabacco product saved it?We already have the industry, land, and know how to do this overnight. If made legal,we could have "packs of pot"on the shelves at 7-11 by the end of the year.
We could have hemp materials like levi jeans, that last 50 times longer, rope as strong as steal chain, building materials, and bio fuels like Brazil has with its sugar cane.
    Its all natural,its organic.

    I know,I know,people will ask"what would Jesus do"?

Well,he was wrapped in it on the cross.

Dont belive the hype and propaganda folks, weed is a good thing for this country,it can save alot of what ails us.
And before anyone asks,i pass all my piss test, without cheating.I have smoked pot before, but i dont smoke pot now.I would if it were legal.
If people saw the real story on pot,and not what they are told by the guberment or CNBC,it would be legal today.

    Happy 4/20 day!:biggrin_2554:

HEY!!! I have to live here and we already have enough fruits and nuts the way it is. Please, if you have any compassion at all, don't wish this on us inland Californians. I agree, the coast could drop off from an earthquake and then the sane ones will be left to put this state back to where it was before the inmates got control of the asylum.

Of course, you'd think that southern California would have dropped off before now just due to the sheer weight of all the illegals that are living there.

Word of caution to sane Californians (and yes, there are sane Californians): Stay away from the water. It's being close to the water that makes you crazy, and this could be said for many states with large bodies of water. Just to prove my point, look at the east coast or the states up by the Great Lakes. Look at Oregon and Washington. I tell you it's the water. lol
