Don’t need another engine but, being a 1957 model would be closer to original for the 55, just thinking….

Heads and engine block both 1957….

Pulled the right head off to look at the cylinder walls and top of the pistons, guess the guy was honest, he said it didn’t have many miles since a complete rebuild. Cylinder walls are full of nice cross hatch with clean flat top pistons marked .060. So basically a 291.9 or 292 cubic inch engine now….
