In training with Central... check this out..

Hey guys... the last two months I was looking at CR England and then 2 weeks before I was going to go with them I found Central Reefer. I think that was the best decision I have ever made. I am now almost 1 week into the 2 week course and I past my CDL test for my permit with flying colors. After 3 intense days of studying the book watching videos and in class descussions I got a 92% on my DOES work. You just have to want it bad and be willing to put alot of work into it.
So far Central has been everything they said they were and more. The hotel I am staying in (Medina, NY) is the Apple Orchard Inn. The 2 owners john and olga are wonderful people and they treat the students really good and they make some delicious food. This hotel is far better than I had expected. The Instructers at central's school are... well.. somewhat unorthidox but they do know what they are doing... and they know it very well. They like to have fun in the class and in the truck and they still are able to stuff all you need to knolw in your brain.
I will be in the truck training for the next week and I will check back to let ya'll know how it is going. For all of you new drivers out there as far as now I would highly recommend central and they're school(at least the one here in Medina, NY). But if you do apply make #### sure you fit they're qualifactions. My class started out being 11 people the first day 3 didnt even show up. During the DOT physical we lost another to high blood pressure. We lost another because he forgot to bring some forms of ID. And today we lost one more because of a complication with his licese record. I am telling you this so if you decide to come down here make absolutly sure you have everything you need.

Well.. Im near the end of the 2 week course and I am just gonna give you guys an update. First.. this is a very fast pace course but I am happy with the progress I havre made. I have only been in the truck for 5 days but i feel very comfortable and confident to take the road test. Which is a good thing because the test is friday. Well I'll answer those q's as best I can. First of all Central is a fairly new company and they are growing fast. They use to be Dick Simon but then they were bought out by the owner of swift. At that time there were only 500 trucks and now i guess there is over 2 thousand trucks and 4 thousand trailers. They ordered 500 new trucks already just for this year.
A1- Yes, central does run mostly reffer freight but they also do dry freight.. whateevr the customer needs moved but they have way too much freight for the companys drivers so they actually give out freight to other companies justy becasue there areent enough trucks within.

A2- I have heard anything from 35k to 45 k first year earnings. I strongly believe you could make 45 easily your first year if u can stay out for long periods and never refuse a load and just be a team player. It also depends on your learning curve. It could take anywhere from 3 months to a year for a person to be fully comfortable and the company to be fully comfortable with you. Then things and money should start to pick up.

A3- I'm not 100% sure about the ding on your record btu all i can say is when you fill ou tthe application dont try to hide anything. Let them know right away and ahead of time. Keep pushing your recruiter to find out if they can accept you. I dont think it will be a problem some people hjere have a lot worse records but i cant stress enough to tell em everything and you'll be ok. Well.. good luck hope to c ya out there:smt038
