They are checking for wants and warrants for an arrest, this is actually what I do in the Military. There are also some other thing's the Military check's for. If you are a registered sex offender this will also show up and you will either be denied access to the base, or get a police escort. And the third thing is a base barment roster. You would be on this list if you have ever been in trouble with another base, this also could get you a denied access.

Thanks for the info. I've got nothing to hide. Just over a year ago I had the 10 finger TSA back ground check and a full FBI back ground check so that I can haul freight for you guys with out problems. -
when u read it off to them just change 1 or 2 #'s around Si?

i agree,i don't think they should ask for your drivers license,because the person could use ur social or anything.they should just use ur company info instead of ur license

From what I understand, its a security issue, the only places I have had to show it, and I did have to give it to a guard was at a production plant and a port of entry warehouse in Port Newark. You have to give it to law enforcement on demand;they usually have it for far longer than any shipper or receiver. I don't like it but it's pretty minor.

It happened once to me where a place asked for id before I could enter. I gladly showed ID, all they did was took down the name and my Company info, includiong truck license number.
I never put my SSN out on an application, I wait till I get hired. As for my DL I have the number memorized, in case it is lost, so i can call the DMV to let them know. Credit Cards on the back say CHECK ID incase I drop one, that way no one can use it and forge my john hancock. -
I met a JB Hunt driver at Office Max a few weeks ago. He was trying to fax a statement to his home state because when he gave his DL to the Gate Guard to get in somewhere around here, they didnt give it back. He said that they hold it until you are on your way out, well he drove off and didnt realize he had left it there until he got up 64 near Richmond VA at the scales and didnt have it to show. The State Trooper let him turn around to go back to get it, but when he got there, the Gate Guard said she didnt have it and he must have dropped it. He said he tore his truck apart and looked all over the road and parking lot. He told me that his company told him that if he didnt get it resolved pretty quickly, they would send another driver for the load, and have his truck towed, and give him a bus ticket. Not sure what ever happened to him. I had to leave the store.

At Budweiser, you place your license on the counter and face the camera. The overhead camera photographs your license while the other camera takes your picture. If you don't like it, unload and leave empty.

That would be enough info to prosecute under any report of theft.
There is absolutely no reason for you all to have a drivers SS# or drivers license number. The companies already done a FBI and numerous other checks to verify the person is who they are.
really all you need is a photo that can be taken from any camera at the time of signing of the BOL. nothing else is needed. (if its so important to shippers) Need to start slapping you #### shippers with some laws instead of putting all the burden on the drivers. -
The way I see it a DL or CDL is proof of identity. Many companies don't issue a photo ID and when they do issue a photo ID it can be easily forged. A shipper has every rite to ask you to prove your identity, why wouldn't they? They are paying you to haul THEIR load!
If you guys think you can refuse to identify yourselves and be trused... then it's no wonder the shippers are demanding a CDL! I can understand not wanting to give up your SSN, this is common sense. So why not take the issue up with the states that are puting your SSN on your CDL?
A different way to look at this is to imagine your truck has been stolden and now the theif is going to steal your load! If all the gaurd is alowed to see is your truck# and trailer# how is he to figure out that it is not you behind the wheel?
