Drivers should not be forced by employers to risk people's lives by driving in hazardous conditions.

Williamson has been a truck driver for 16 years.
"The United States runs on wheels," says Williamson.
These truck drivers know it can be dangerous driving in the icy conditions.
They also know they need to get to their destination to get paid.
It is a risk many truck drivers are willing to take, in order to deliver their goods
Most drivers use common sense and get off the road, when the roads get bad. -
Truck drivers should be experience driving under all weather hazzardeous conditions before given a job, to ensure delivery on time.

I can relate to this story. Last night Indy got about 4 inches of snow, not a lot, but enough to make it a pain. I was driving home, traffic was steady but not moving very fast, maybe 40 MPH on I-70. I look in my rear view and see this trucker rolling up on people flashing his lights, basically saying get out of my way or I'll get you out of my way. He never really slowed down, he just kept on rolling up on peoples bumpers until they got out of the way. I thought it was pretty careless of this driver. I realize he probably just wanted to get out of traffic, but it's that kind of thing that causes stupid accidents and slide offs.

Now wait a minute. I hate to tell you this, but there times when "delivery on time" is simply not possible, as some weather situations are unsuitable for any travel regardless of experience. So that is not a fair statement at all.
Safety should be the overiding concern, not ensuring "delivery on time". -
