In response to harleybob's post. I have been there (SLC school ) , worked for CR England and will tell you that what you read about them is true. If you hang around the yard in SLC you can hear the trainer BRAG about what to do and say to their trainee's.And what they say about the treatment of female trainees would make most normal people sick. Kinda hard to believe that this behavior would be allowed---BUT... The conditions at SLC school are disgusting, treatment of trainees is terrible and several trainers need to be FIRED. Ther are several very good trainers at the SLC school and i got a pretty good road trainer, but they seem to be few and far between. My personal feeling is CRE is a place to avoid

It sounds like boot camp. Since we all agree that the training is bad, what is the company like to work for after the training period and you are out on the road solo??

to all who want to work with c.r. england WARNING!
DISCRIMATION........
i was discrimated against at c.r. england in Utah, i was treated very badly, even the other people there noticed how badly i was treated, one guy asked me if i had a good lawyer, because he never saw anyone be treated so unfairly. i am lebenese , from lebanon, and a U.S. citizen and very proud to be a citizen, i fought in lebanon against the terriorst, most of my life, unfortunatly those so called trainers have no idea that all arabs
are not terrorist, and another thing all they want you to do is to lease a truck because then you are fully responsible for everything the may go wrong including your cargo if it breaks you pay not them ,,, so a warning to all stay away from this company, all i wanted to do was to learn how to drive and make a decent living. -
I see another disgruntled CRE driver has made his presence known here. It's too bad you didn't find this website before going to work for England. I'd have told you to stay very, very far away from that company.
Never work for C.R. England. Throw away your Class-A first. -
Here's a line from another poster:
"A lot of this stuff posted has to fabricated."
He's talking about all the negative press on C.R. England. Way back when I arrived in Salt Lake, I believed all the spouting was fabricated as well. But then I kept seeing CRE's help-wanted in the Salt Lake Tribune 8 days a week, hearing other drivers talk about them (truthfully), and reading testimonies on the web.
When a few drivers ##### and moan about a company, you can take it with a grain of salt. When about one thousand drivers tell you a company sucks, you can bet they're right.
Ignore the herd at your own risk.
Death before driving for C.R. England. -
Sometimes its a day late and about $4000 dollars short

Especially if the complaints are similar in nature. If you hear a lot of the same thing, chances are there is something to it.

sorry about your experience gabeeanne! it's crap like this that makes those of us who love our country sick! america is the land of opportunity to all who come, a great "melting pot". the bill of rights says; "we hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal". although you had a bad experience, there are plenty of good americans out there. keep your chin up, and definately stay away from companies like cre. btw, it is God who judges a man, and His judgement is true!

discrimination is bad, mkay. but we all, even whites get it. you just have to deal with it, or go where your excepted. i wouldnt go to pakistan and expect to be treated fairly.

Discrimination is discrimination, regardless of who is the subject of it. Blacks and other minorities, no matter what they may think, do not hold sole rights to claim that they were discriminated against.
There is no excuse for the way you were treated there. It's one thing to hold prejudices. That is anyone's personal prerogative, but why continue to hold them after the one who is the subject of them has long since proved his or her self to be honorable?
