Knowing the imbeciles in the government, they will probably say automated trannys cut down emissions

 

I found an article that had the notice sent out by a KW dealer. Says they are going to bring out a replacement for the C500. Almost guarantee it will have the new style cab and be called the C550 to keep up with the current offerings. Along with the emissions laws changes it just makes sense to streamline manufacturing costs to a single cab design and just throw it on whatever chassis and hood you want.

Manuals in heavy trucks are going to end up dying eventually just like they have in cars and light trucks. Eventually they'll become the more expensive option since they won't be produced in such large numbers.

The newer automated/automatic transmissions are pretty good. Almost every complaint I've ever seen about them is because the person driving it works for somebody else who has control of how its programmed. If you can actually get them programmed correctly they work perfectly fine. Most companies the programming is set up by some desk jockey who's trying to maximize fuel economy without any thought to how it will affect handling.

I have yet to find anything that a manual could do better than my current Detroit auto.

 

I was already told no t8 or C5 can be ordered for me . And a W9 will be available for year or so…..

 

Honestly I don't even really care anymore. I've kinda given up on Canada at this point.

$50k still isn't terrible for an engine though. Retail on a 15L Isuzu industrial engine back in the early 2010's was around $75 - $100k Canadian if my memory serves me correct.

 

Good news. Really good food. Responsive management should the need arise. I don't remember if they serve alcohol or not.
