Any drivers out there have problems with hight and how you adjust your seat? Im 5' 1" and have a hard time getting the right adjustment on my seat. I will admit that I have made myself a booster to get my butt in the right place on the seat and be able to work the clutch.
Anyone got a comment or story on this?

I have heard of short drivers doing that. Unfornately till truck and seat manufacters(sp) start making adjustments for short or tall drivers improvsation is the only answer.

Remove the seat. I couldn't resist.

I believe the new Freightliner seat is supposed to adjust to all drivers...

I'm not a fan of air ride seat's. So I keep it all the way on the floor. To #### bouncy for my taste. Never had a problem riding like that. I don't need to see any portion of the hood on any make of truck to keep it between the lines even being 6'0" tall and it doesn't obstruct my veiw at all in any direction.
Of course everyone has their own prefrence for comfort. My step dad is also short but when he was driving he kept the seat inflated about half way. Have to adjust your height but also your body weight play's a factor. Two people of the same height can have the seat adjusted to the same pressure but body weight will very on how it will ride. -
WildBill123 you're pretty funny!
But alaskagal has a good point. I'm 5'6" and a student, I was wondering the same thing. Most of the guys in class are five ten-six foot. I fear they'll get some giggles at my expense! Oh well, I guess I'll write "kiss my a55" on my booster pillow. -
I am 5'. It works better for me to keep the seat a little lower, even all the way down, even though I can barely see over the dash. If I have the seat as high as I would like, then I have to fully extend my leg almost standing up to hold in the clutch. That can get very uncomfortable after a while.
rich_t, The Challenger and truckerdot Thank this. -
Go to a boating store and yourself a seat cushion. This will help. Even at 5'9 I ride my seat on floor and use my flotation cushion as a support for me.

Try getting one of these as can help you. Good luck and let us know what you did so other drivers the same height can follow what you did and make tweaks to fit their needs.
KHroad dust Thanks this. -
Don't sell yourself short, I don't think anyone will even know you're there.
They will be busy enough wiping the sweat off their brow to be worried about anyone else.
