    Okay, this was back in the late 70s, and there was no such thing as a fuel surcharge. I found out later he was ripping all the drivers off.

    % is OK as long as your co is not cheating you. First question, % of gross to the truck or % of net to the truck (net is after owner deducts for fuel and his expenses) so, 25% of $7000 to the truck VS. 25% of $7000 minus fuel expense etc. make a BIG difference to your check !

    They are going to screw you either way most % companies pay linehaul which is a lot less than gross not including fuel surcharge, cpm base pay + bonuses is a scam, 1099 means you pay your own taxes, health insurance no benefits !
