I’m not going to be too harsh on the guy because it happened to me.

Let me preface this by saying I’ve owned and drove trucks since 1977.

I was driving on a Missouri two lane highway when I started feeling a vibration in the gear shift but not the steering wheel. I thought something happened to the transmission. I pulled over and was shocked to see my right front steer tire was completely gone. There was no damage to the fender or anything else besides the rim.

I have no clue where the tire went.

Stupid news made up by CHP trying to make truckers look stupid and unsafe for their anti truck narrative. Ask yourselves if you lose a tire and the only safest place to go other then the shoulder for hours is the scale house. I’m going to scale house. As for the bs of not knowing he had a tire issue. How many of you have defiantly played stupid when a Fife comes up to you and says you got a problem with your truck. “Didn’t know about that officer it wasn’t like that when I started this morning” just like everytime they tell me I have no steer axle brakes. Lol.

Well the problem is that he had at least THREE safe places he could’ve pulled off to check things out before hitting the scale house-two of places are literally down the road from each other (TA and the Petro in Wheeler Ridge, both of which have repair facilities). Not to mention I’m sure other drivers were probably trying to get the driver’s attention!
