Gotta love it when they’re diverting traffic and someone blocks the detour. Lol. At least they had 34 to the north to send people to after this.
D.Tibbitt, Arctic_fox, Flat Earth Trucker and 1 other person Thank this. -
sign says 13' 10" ?
RockinChair, Flat Earth Trucker and hope not dumb twucker Thank this. -
Container was on a rollback, step deck or flatbed not on a chassis,so it may have been higher. There’s also a possibility that the container was a hi-cube variant.

If he was off a foot like it says then he was over 14 easily. I’ve been under it a lot and there’s plenty of room with a van.
D.Tibbitt, Flat Earth Trucker and mjd4277 Thank this. -
The pic of the truck on its side looks like a regular flatbed. So I’m guessing it was a high cube that should’ve been loaded on a step deck. Guess he was fine out west at 14ft. lol.
D.Tibbitt and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
How high do flatbed trailers sit when they’re empty?Flat Earth Trucker Thanks this.

Probably 5-ish on average. How tall is a high cube container versus a regular one?
RockinChair, mjd4277 and Flat Earth Trucker Thank this. -
I think 9 feet. (for the high cube container)
So he was probably just over the 13’ 10” limit.
It was late at night and he had to get on an emergency detour so I think he wasn’t expecting to run into this situation.
Not an excuse, but I can see how it happened.Last edited: Dec 25, 2024

Well, if he was heading east, he would've found out eventually.....Long FLD Thanks this.
