I'd like to know if Acme trucking is a good company to lease on to. I'd also like to know if its profitable to haul oil field equipment for Acme.
Thank you.

If you're talking about the place with a warehouse located in Middletown, PA (im sure thts not the only location), they very much live up to their name. I called and asked for directions and it was clear that everyone who works there magically teleports in every morning, because they dont have a clue where the place is..

I'd say they are a very good company to lease with.
We run a few trucks with them and are doing well, last year was
really bad in the oilfield but things have since turned around. Things
still aren't quite up to what they were in 08 but it's getting better
everyday.
Nope we don't have warehouse in Middletown.
We have terminals in Tunkhannok and Uniontown, PA these are
the only ones in PA.Baack, spyboyyy and kickin chicken Thank this. -
I contacted a terminal manager and was told I'd need a 48ft trailer with dock racks. What is a dock rack and how much should I expect to spend? Also, does the trailer need a wood deck or is aluminum okay?
ThanksBaack Thanks this. -
I've never heard of the term dock racks but I would think that he might have been
talking about pipe pins.
Pipe pins need to be 4' high from the floor of the trailer.
My drop decks have wooden floors and my flats all have aluminum floors, it's
what you want.
Whatever you have for a floor you can't have ANY holes, not even one that
you can't put your hand through. #### safety man turned me away from a
load one time because I had a hole in my deck that you could barely fit a
penny through.
One other thing Acme requires is headache rack with no sight holes in it.kickin chicken and Baack Thank this. -
I can't help you with either of your questions so I'll just welcome you to the board and wish you the best of luck!spyboyyy and kickin chicken Thank this.

Thanks, we have been trying to become o/o for a few years and I thought i'd turn to some bb's to get some feedback and advice. I'll accept a hello and welcome too.

Thanks Coonass, I plan on calling a terminal tomorrow to get more details. I don't think these terminal managers want to waste time talking to prospects if you have no equipment or TWIC in our case. Got the TWIC coming and was approved for a tractor today so the pieces seem to be falling into place.
What is the average length of haul?
