The cameras don't send the footage over the internet in real time. They store it internally until something triggers an event, and then it sends the footage of around 10 seconds before to 10 seconds after the event to be reviewed, and only to one place - the company providing the service. If they deem it serious enough it is then sent to the drivers company for further review.
Best way to disable a driver facing camera

If the camera sends footage of something that just happened without my actually manually sending it, or authorizing it to be sent, then yes that is sending it in real time. What you mean to nitpick my words as to saying is that they don't constantly or continually send information in real time. Obviously, the system does not wait to send anything it considers an event. But a car system does not send anything to anyone. If I don't freeze the footage, it will simply write over it. That's what I want. In this manner, the information cannot be used against me (5th Amendment) and I cannot be accused of destroying exculpatory evidence by not stopping the camera from overwriting footage which I think will not show the whole picture or will be misleading.
real time
noun
: the actual time during which something takes place
the computer may partly analyze the data in real time (as it comes in) Definition of REAL time
Edit: I think what you mean when you say it doesn't go over the internet is that you don't know the difference between the internet and the World Wide Web.Last edited: Dec 30, 2024

I saw a movie on Lifetime Network. I know there are online hubs where people trade nude picks of 63 year old truck drivers with each other. My CDL prohibits me from telling lies about any of this. For all I know this is what the annual WEF meeting in Davos Switzerland is really all about. Perverts, all of them.

Find out where the fuse to the camera is in the fuse box and replace the fuse with a blown fuse. Repeat this process everytime they replace itjaffles Thanks this.

Yes the same bloody fuse probably runs the air con, indicators and ABS system.

That's not 100% accurate for all companies. I know with our Samsara system office personnel can pull up our cameras live, but we are told to cover the driver facing lens. That being said I am happy to have the cameras because it has twice immediately absolved me.Moosetek13 Thanks this.

The companies I worked at classify tampering with cameras and safety systems (automatic braking, lane-departure, cameras) as immediate termination events. The company has heard every driver’s story of how his camera “accidentally” got blocked or broken. Whatever you are tempted to do with these systems make sure you have another job waiting on you before you do it.

Probably not actually in the fuse panel. That’s an aftermarket upfit typically done at a company shop or a dealership as part of the PDI process. And it’s pretty easy to figure out what you’re doing, especially when you check resistance on that circuit and find no abnormalities.
Better to go drive for someone else than get fired for it if you’re working for a company which uses DAC. I expect they’d probably report that as a safety infraction. Just like in the shop, toolboxes have wheels for a reason. If you have work history and a clean CDL, you can find a job.snowlauncher and tscottme Thank this.
