For me, truckin' was way less stressful back when I started in '94. I retired 6 years ago because it got too stressful.

-

nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
Lol why? Is delivering to Walmart a pain in the *ss?
-
Yeah, I guess it depends on what generation the person is from, for me, if we didn't have GPS and the other technology we have today back then, then that would've suck for sure.

When I started it was cabovers, truckers atlas, and rows of payphone. Different world.Last edited: Dec 31, 2024

Dairy loads in general are a pain. Always can expect long waits at the dairy plants and farms are messy and stink.
There is a regular dairy run which is drop and hook on both ends, but it's a short mile percentage load which doesn't really pay enough to be worth it.nextgentrucker Thanks this. -
None of those sound appealing at all. I have driven spring ride cabovers and I hope to never set foot in one again.
I'll stick with the modern stuff for all it's faults.Friend, nextgentrucker, Tanker_82 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I miss the old days. I liked it better before all the technology took over the industry. I believe the cell phone has been the biggest down fall of our industry.
navypoppop Thanks this.
